Jeff Mills

Deeply immersed in science fiction, DJ, producer, and artist Jeff Mills has drawn on its ideas, concepts, stories, and aesthetics from the very beginning. Space is a central obsession for Mills, and his music often takes on the form of musical science fiction—embodying the future while respecting the past and remaining firmly rooted in the present.

When he founded his record label Axis in 1992—marked by a logo of four triangles pointing toward an invisible center—Mills adopted the rotating principles of the solar system as both an aesthetic and a creative model. From the outset, Axis releases explored futuristic and science-fiction themes such as Mutant Theory, Tomorrow, Art / UFO, Time Machine, and Alpha Centauri.

For Jeff Mills, the future remains a powerful creative force—one that continues to drive his ceaseless artistic output.
