STAMP THE WAX: RECORD SHOPPING WITH MARCELLUS PITTMAN

When you’re contacted with a day’s notice for the chance to go hang with Marcellus Pittman as he digs for records, it’s not something you can just turn down. Instead, we packed up our cameras, questions and excitement and jotted off to meet one of Detroit’s wittiest DJ/producers at Soho’s Phonica Records.

One quarter of the Three Chairs alongside Rick Wilhite, Kenny Dixon, Jr. (aka Moodymann) and Theo Parrish, Marcellus is a Detroit OG. Have a watch of our funniest record shopping film yet, as Marcellus picks out some records and delves into what makes his “homie” Omar S so special.
