Unabridged Detroit Incoming
A year-long Detroit techno event series honoring the creators of underground dance music
Unabridged Detroit Incoming is a year-long cultural campaign spotlighting the Detroit DJs, producers, and promoters who created and continue to shape global underground dance music culture. Relaunching in 2026, the series connects Detroit to a worldwide audience through club nights, live performances, panels, film screenings, podcasts, and archival conversations across Oakland, San Francisco, and beyond.
Unabridged is an imprint of As You Like It, a cornerstone of Bay Area underground culture for more than 15 years. Detroit Incoming centers the origins of techno through the voices of its creators, foregrounding Black, brown, and queer innovators whose contributions have too often been overlooked in the United States.
Quarter One Detroit Techno Event Series Highlights
Event details — Featuring Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale and The Blessed Madonna. Hosted by The Stud and 48 Hills’ Marke B. DJs Dr. Time and The Baptist.
Later that night: Midwest Connect at Public Works with The Blessed Madonna, Mike Servito, Mouthfeel, and Aboyami.
